Cruse for burgers: Viper run to Mr. Frosty

Viv's Viper GTS in front of Mr. Frosty's

Tonight was one of those low key nights that really ended up being refreshing. Viv called me up and let me know that he had a few hours free, and thought a cruise in the Viper might be a good idea. I’m not one to turn down a cruse, and the night was perfect for a ride. I got Viv hooked on old school burger joints when we took the Supra through Health Camp in Waco on the way to Austin last year. Mr. Frosty is a similar place in Denton I used to go when I was at UNT when I needed a good old school burger and a home made root beer (yes, they actually make it there). They have been in business for 53 years with the same family owning and operating the restaurant. Like Health Camp, it hasn’t changed much since it opened, and you really get the feeling of going back in time when you sit down for a meal there. It was a beautiful spring afternoon, and we had a great time running 20 miles up the road to Denton where we enjoyed some burgers, chili cheese fries, and root beer in. We thought we might have a nice little race on our way home when we saw a SL 55AMG ( a Benz with teeth! 493hp stock), but it was a soccer mom with her teenage son doing his homework in the passenger seat. :) It was not to be! Stil, the night was refreshing for a low key Wednesday and just what I needed.

If you are looking for a good old fashioned burger, check out Mr. Frosty. They in Denton just west of 35 on Fort Worth Drive (aka 377) on the north side of the road.

Finally I leave you with a good IM converstaion between Viv and Keni. Both of whom are getting married this year: Keni to Blake, and Viv to Novie:

keni: wedding planning takes a lot of time
Viv Indeed.
keni: Blake and I can’t agree on a first dance song
viv: 2Pac’s Picture Me Rollin’.
Viv: Done.
Viv: Next.
Viv: I know that doesn’t sound romantic, but 2Pac didn’t do a lot of slow songs, so he just didn’t leave a lot to choose from.
ken: hahahaha
ken: Poor Novie

Alright…So one might say that I’m a little behind when it comes to my blog. I don’t have any real excuses other than that I’ve been staying busy, taking lots of pics and having a good time. I’m going to try to get everyone caught back up with a picture laden multi post in chronological order.

Trio at Bend Studio:

Trio
On the way back from South by Southwest, jim bianco, tobias froberg, and jenny owen youngs all stopped by for a tripple show at Bend Studio. I enjoyed the show, and was particularly impressed by Jenny Owen Youngs. She had a great sound coupled with a edgy vibe wrapped up in a seemingly innocent package (“sneak attack” as she said after the show). Jim had a real raspy sound with light and fun beats, and Tobias was…well he was Tobias. I’m not sure how to describe him, but I enjoyed his music.

Jen’s shoot:
Unfortunately I only get to see my good friend Jen from high school (go wildcats!) once or twice a year when she comes to visit her grandmother. Fortunately last weekend she was in town and had a few hours to say hello and snap a few pics. Now, not only is she one of my favorite people, she is also one of the most beautiful people I know. I was elated when she said she wanted her pics taken. For a shoot that didn’t happen until well after midnight on a night she spent almost 3 hours on an airplane, I was more than happy with what we ended up with. Thanks to Jen for letting me shoot her!

Finally we had Blake’s bachelor party! The crazy cat somehow convinced the lovely Miss Keni to be his bride. We decided to have a non traditional party and went out on a 3 day camping trip way out in the stix. We ate well, drank well, and had a fantastic time. Viv survived without running watter for 3 days and nothing got too out of hand because we had officer Sean there to keep us in line.

Weekend update

Emily Elbert

I’m getting a little behind in my blogging efforts (what else is new?) but I wanted to let you guys know I have 3 posts that are all about half way done, and should be up in the next day or two.
Write now I’m working on:
David Garza (i know i know…I’ve been promising this one for 2 weeks!)
Emily Elbert and Kristy Kruger at Opening Bell
and Nikki’s Daytona 500 party.

Daytona 500

Smack…. SUSAN!!!!

weenie!!!!

I’ve had 3 people in the last 8 hours give me trouble for not posting in my blog this week. The major problem right now is I’m not sure what to blog about. The last week has been pretty low key. I put a new battery in my truck…..I think that’s the highlight of the week…Do you want me to blog about that Keni? Do you want me to blog about that Rob? Do ya!?!?! I could tell you all about the 760 cold cranking amps of glory! How my truck now starts like this: “va va VOOM” instead of how it sounded last week “va va va va va voooooooooooom”. But who the hell wants to read that? SMACK! SUSAN!!!

dork

What else? The weather has sucked over the past few weeks. It was snowy/icy last week, followed by low 30’s and rain. Lots of rain. More rain in one week than can remember in the last 10 years or so. See what I mean? There just isn’t much to blog about right now. I’m working on a few things that will be fun to share in the next few weeks. I bought a Kill-A-Watt. It’s a device that measures the power useage for anything you plug into it. I’m trying to save a few bucks on my electric bill and finding out some very nerdy yet cool information with the device that I’ll soon share. I spend over 30 bucks a month just keeping my computers on all day….and 15 a month keeping my cable box and tuner on…. DAMN!!!! I was going to hold out on that info until I get more info and do a big super nerd post…but I just blew it. More to come

[23:33] zdive: dont make me smack you around and call you susan
[23:33] bdesign: what
