10 year dry spell

My teeth (tooths sounds more fun)

I went to the Dentist today. I hate dentists as much as the next guy. Infact, I probably hate them even more! I decided that I needed to take advantage of my dental insurance, and that I should go get my teeth cleaned. While filling out the paperwork at the office, I ran across question number 6 that asked how long it had been since I’d been to the dentist. That was a scary thought because I realized that I hadn’t been to a torture practitioner in somewhere between 8 and 10 years.

While I was finishing up my paperwork there was a man at the front counter who was scheduling all of the dental work that they found he needed after he got his teeth cleaned. Holly crap…. The list went on for at least 30 seconds. So I started to get a little nervous….

So!?!?!?!?! Any bets? What did they find, how many follow up torture visits do you think I have now signed up for after going to the dentist for the first time in a decade?

Triple Feature!!!!

First I thought I would continue with the guest writer program and post Keni’s funny for the day. According to her it “made me laugh at 10:00 a.m this morning, and that isn’t easy to do!” So below is Keni’s worksafe video for you. Click on her picture below to get to her blog.

I’m heart broken! I was going to post 2 versions of “Dick in a Box” (the clean and unedited version) but it looks like NBC made youtube take it down :( .

Once again I’ve fallen behind in my blogging duties. With Christmas coming up, I seem to have been more busy than usual. The good news is that means I’ve taken a lot of pics and seen some really good shows lately. The bad news is that I haven’t made the time to post blog updates about them. So I thought I’d just do a quick post with some of the pics that I’ve taken over the past week or two, and dangle a few promises of future posts out there for all of you. Consider it my Christmas gift to my readers ;) . It may take me a day or two, but I’ll have more pics in my gallery soon, and I’ll make the pics below link to the galleries from those days/shoots.

Let’s see. The most recent of my adventures was the Alejandro Escovedo show tonight at Bend Studio. Ally is ending the year with a bang, with the last two shows of 2006 being Ian Moore and Alejandro. It was an act I’ve been waiting to see for a long time, and I was not disappointed in any way. I’ll put a full review up soon.

Melissa Ham-Ellis honored me with a visit this week to take some pics for her marketing/promotion. She was the captin of my high school drill team and went on to be a Patriots cheerleader, actress, and professional dancer. We took tons and tons of pics, and I was happy with the result. I guess I had it easy though; with someone that beautiful, it’s hard not to get some good pics. I’m still working through them and will post more soon.

About two weeks ago I took pictures of Rob’s family. They wanted some Christmas pics and Rob, Lili and Stac all came over to my apartment to take some pics. I have a new found respect for people who take photos of babies for a living. Lili is an angel, and Rob and Stacy were fantastic in helping me keep her attention, and it was still not easy!!!! One of the pics made their Christmas card, so the mission was successful.

Finally we have the Paul Sprawl show at Standard and Pours. I’ll write up a full review on him as well, but for now I’ll just say that I’ve never ever seen anyone who can play a guitar the way that guy can play a guitar.
More to come!

Ian Moore at Bend Studio

Ian Moore

Last night was a nice night. I have to admit, that even a pessimist would conclude that last night was fantastic. I had a good mix of my highschool/college friends and my skydiving friends together at Bend Studio to see Ian Moore play with Kullen Fuchs at Ally David’s newly renovated Bend Studio. Militza and I have seen Ian Moore times than we can count while this was the virgin experience for Blake and Keni, and the second time Jonathan “Jollyman” has seen them play.

Ian Moore

I think I’m going to go with my recent theme on Ian Moore posts and keep this pretty short. I’ve written so many reviews for his shows, I don’t want to sound like a broken record. All you need to know is that the show kicks ass, and it always kicks ass. Ian is an amazing musician who is a wizard on the guitar and has a voice with power and range that I have never seen rivaled. Kullen is the hardest working man in music, and his ability to sing and play so many instruments at the same time allow the two man team to make more rich music than should be possible with only two artists. I’ve seen probably close to 75 live music acts in the last year, and I would still take an Ian/Kullen show over any of the others.
