Texas Tech vs. Arkansas Men’s Basketball at American Airlines Center

Vivek, Rob, and Blake

I have to give credit to Keni for coming up with a great surprise Christmas (or was it birthday?) for Mr. Blake . Texas Tech men’s basketball played the Arkansas Razorbacks in Dallas at the American Airline Center, and Miss Keni got great seats for Blake and several of his close guy friends. After a nice dinner (that I couldn’t make it to!!!) Keni gave Blake his ticket and the guys left to go see our first Tech basketball game of the year.

Tech didn’t play very well at all, and we lost the game pretty handily. I have to give the Razorbacks credit, they were at the game in HUGE numbers and gave great support to their team. Even though we lost, we all had a great time being out with the game among great friends.

I know that Blake was looking foward to going to this game with his father (Razorback) who lost his battle with cancer recently. While it can never be the same, I hope that being there with the boys was a good substitute.

PS, Blake you owe Keni flowers!

New Black Cherry Vanilla Coke

Black Cherry Vanilla Coke Black Cherry Vanilla Coke

For all of you Coke fans out there. A friend of mine happened onto a bottle of an unreleased new Coke flavor, and he was kind enough to let give it a try. The new Coca Cola flavor that we tried was Black Cherry Vanilla Coke. The buzz that I was able to find on the internet suggests that it might be released as soon as January, 2006. I enjoyed the drink very much. Thanks to my Old Man, I have always liked Black Cherry drinks like Dr. Brown’s Black Cherry (couldn’t find a manufactures link, sorry), and I have also always liked Vanilla Coke. To me it was a very nice combination of the two. You can really taste the cherry, and then the vanilla is a little bit more subtle in the after taste. Vanilla Jack/Crown and Coke is a nice combo, and I bet Black Cherry Vanilla Coke and whiskey might also be very nice.

Hump Day Humor: Work SafeFunny video for the day.

Well, I thought I burned down my apartment last night. I had a small fire still burning in the fireplace when I went to bed, and I didn’t have my contacts on. After I was in bed for a while I looked out into my living room and saw a red/orange glow and smoke. I ran out there thinking I was in deep snow (Fargo accent). Lack of contacts/glasses supplied the fuzz/smoke, and my Christmas tree lights supplied the red/orange glow. Ok…I admit it….I’m an idiot!

Enough about me, it’s time to get to your Hump Day Video! My friend BFC had the best quote after seeing this video: “Boy is right! Sh*t hurts! ”

How to make a Texas Tech Tortilla video: Texas Tech 101

John D. and a Tech Tortilla

My Texas Tech Red Raiders will be taking on the University of Alabama in the Cotton Bowl the day after New Years. In preparation for the event, I thought I’d teach the world how to be a proper Red Raider. Below you will find your first lesson: Texas Tech 101, How to make a Tech Tortilla. In this 30 second lesson you will learn how to make a Texas Tech University (TTU) Tortilla complete with the aerodynamic hole in a matter of seconds. You will also learn the basic rules of engagement (who you can try to hit ;) ). So Red Raiders, watch this video and come out to the Cotton Bowl with your tortillas in tow! I want to see the stadium explode with tillers’ every time Tech scores on the sister kissn’ Crimson Tide of Alabama. Future lessons will include how to get Tortillas into the game, and how to get your buddy Jim or Jack into the game (Mr. Beam and Daniels of course).

Monday Humor: Worksafe video to start your week. Terror Alert

A warning with this one: This was a Saturday Night Live skit, and it is worksafe….but it pushes things to the very limit and there are some things that are made to sound not so worksafe. I would use headphones to check it out first.
